Getting your hair and make-up done on the day is probably a cost you’ve accounted for. But what about the trials beforehand? If you don’t want any surprises or disappointments on the day then set aside money for trial runs to make sure everything is as you want it to be.
C is for corkage
Saving money by bringing your own wine to the venue can be a great way to cut costs. But make sure to check and see that the venue’s corkage rate isn’t prohibitively high.
Also, check for other charges that suppliers might not shout about, but you will definitely have to pay.
D is for décor
Flowers are top of the list when thinking about dressing the church and venue, but that isn’t the only way to make your rooms look unforgettable. Make sure to check what is included in the cost of the venue hire, otherwise, you may be forking out for essentials like table linens, table decorations, and candles. This can all add up, so make sure to make a plan and budget accordingly.
E is for eating
While you’ve probably broken down the cost per head of the main meal, there are a few other meals to consider. How about breakfast and lunch for the bridesmaids and best men who will most likely be with you all day long. It also wouldn’t do any harm to keep your photographer fed – no one works well on an empty stomach!
F is for favors
And finally, it is lovely to give your friends and family a favor or keepsake to take away with them. While pricing one item, remember that you have to budget for tens, maybe even hundreds. So don’t forget the budget when thinking of personalized gifts!
