Planning a wedding can be a stressful experience. But it doesn’t have to be. From the venue to the dress choice, food and décor to entertainment – there is so much to consider.

And you might feel yourself getting overwhelmed.

Follow our tips and you will find the next few months much more fun than frantic.

  1. Set your budget

First things first – set a budget. Weddings can be extremely expensive.

If you don’t keep an eye on all the additional extras you could run yourself into significant debt.

Before you do anything else, figure out how much you can afford to spend and make sure that you don’t go over it!

  1. Check it off

Most of us have never planned anything as important as a wedding. So do your research and take time at the outset to work out exactly what you need and want from your big day.

Use the internet, it is a great resource for pre-made checklists that will give you inspiration and help speed up your planning process.

With a checklist and timeline, you will save yourself a lot of time and money!

  1. Ask the parents

Your parents, grandparents and even some of your nearest and dearest have planned their own weddings.

So why not ask for their advice?

They will hopefully be able to give you some dos and don’ts, pitfalls to avoid and also lend a hand in bringing the whole day together.

  1. Find your inspiration

You only need to type #wedding into Instagram channel to be inspired. There are tons of great places to look for ideas that you can translate into your day.

From magazines to social media you will find concepts, themes, and ideas for everything from wedding dresses, decorations, flower arrangements as well as the food.

Inspiration can come from the strangest places, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled to help you plan your perfect day.

  1. It is all about you

Yes, that’s right, this day is all about you and your other half. So don’t forget in all the planning that you can and should reflect yourselves as a couple.

Make sure to make your wedding your own by perhaps including your favorite foods. Pick a theme that reflects your journey as a couple or maybe go for décor that uses your favorite colors.

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. Make it all about you and your other half and make sure to enjoy every moment – from planning right through to the last dance.
